SYNOPSIS:
Before the Ramones, The Sex Pistols, and The Clash, there was Death — an African-American punk band formed in the early ’70s by three brothers from Detroit. After collecting dust in an attic for decades, Death’s music was rediscovered and spread like wildfire through the avid record-collecting community. This documentary chronicles the amazing story of brotherly love, personal tragedy, and triumphant resurgence of the Hackney brothers over more than 30 years.
A BAND CALLED DEATH sold to Drafthouse Films. It is set to be released theatrically in 20 cities on May 10, 2013 and will also have an iTunes special release on April 1.
